Fighting erupted in Verona today with one casualty; Mercutio, a dear friend to Romeo Montague, has been slain by Tybalt Capulet. Mid-day, Romeo was approached by Tybalt, who was infuriated that he had been at the Capulet party. Romeo refused to accept Tybalt's challenge, therefore Mercutio decided to fight him. After Romeo attempted to stop the fight by blocking Mercutio's arm, Tybalt thrusted his sword into Mercutio's ribs. He bled to death in the streets.
